Fall Ready-to-Wear 2007

Welcome to my blog, Heroin & Hermés. I've started it to fill in my gaps of boredom this summer, and of course, to keep you filled in - which is where I'm starting. I'm dedicating this first post to all things Ready-to-Wear Fall '07; well, not everything. Since it's my blog, I've chosen to cover the collections I love (& loathe).
Get over it, embrace it, love it ;]

Let's start with Chloé.
Think LOTS of black, some orange embellishments a la skinny belt
(around the hips, not waist, thank god! so over that trend)
with some serious dominatrix leather(!) thrown in.

Andersson's take on the LBD for Winter (which looms around the corner) turned black, a necessity of the season, from boring and typical to interesting and gorgeous, showing us the new meaning of a "winter must-have".

On the other hand, though I was obsessed with their embellished frocks from S/S '07, I'm disappointed with the tamer, less enthused version that showed up on a few shirts & dresses (pictured in the last two shots) - It just seemed a tad half-hearted.

In what must be my favourite collection of the season, Balenciaga's genius Nicholas Ghesquiére pulled a 180 and took us from the super-modern (and unfortunately not very wearable) theme of his futuristic S/S show, to a much more practical collection filled with gorgeous prints, smart cigarette pants and luxurious collegiate jackets - I can see myself wearing every one of these pieces. This line of work was complete genious :applause: !

Loves it!

Scrolling through the designer's list on style.com, Chanel's Fall line seemed to be an obvious one to cover, but I'm shocked (and slightly ashamed) to say that their collection was somewhat disappointing (I know, take a moment to mentally crucify me now)! Perhaps it was simply a not-as-good followup to their stunning S/S collection this year? The over-abundance of tweed reminds me of this horrid knockoff I used to own - it gives me chills (in a bad way) just thinking about it ;(

There was good, of course; the bold colours & the too fabulous LBDs by far excused the pieces mentioned above. And the gorgeous male models didn't hurt either ;]

And to wrap up my extremely shortened list of Fall/Winter '07 collections, I leave you with some gorgeous Luella:

so couragous, fabulous and.. British!
